Work History

Police Detective

Toronto Police Service
10.1999 - Current

As a member of the Toronto Police Service for nearly 25 years, I have held various roles that have broadened and enhanced my development as a law enforcement professional.

Currently, I serve as the Unit Complaint Investigator at 31 Division. In this role, I investigate internal and external conduct complaints from the community, the Law Enforcement Complaints Agency (LECA), and internal sources within the Toronto Police Service. These investigations are concluded with detailed "Reports of Investigation" that outline findings and recommendations, which are used in the adjudication process when misconduct is identified.

Before my current role as the Unit Complaint Investigator, I acquired valuable skills and experience as a Coach Officer, and Detective with the 53 Division Major Crime Unit, 51 Division Fraud Unit, 11 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau, and 55 Division Neighbourhood Community Officer.

Case Management Officer

Correctional Service Of Canada
02.1994 - 10.1999

As a Case Management Officer (Parole Officer) with Correctional Service Canada (CSC), I played a crucial role in the rehabilitation and reintegration of offenders. My key responsibilities included developing and implementing correctional plans, conducting assessments, and monitoring progress. I oversaw offenders on parole or statutory release, ensuring compliance with conditions and providing necessary support. I evaluated risks posed by offenders and made informed recommendations.

Additionally, I created detailed reports for parole hearings, court proceedings, and other official purposes. Collaboration with correctional staff, law enforcement, community organizations, and support services was essential. I provided counseling and support to offenders to improve their behavior and develop vital skills.

Moreover, engaging with community resources to support offenders and enhance public safety was a significant part of my role, as was handling emergencies involving offenders to ensure community safety and security.
