I received a call from Head office explaining that there was a store near me with their manager on an extended maternity leave very much in need of maturity and direction, and they thought of me. The manager eventually came back for 5 months until leaving for another maternity leave and recently resigned rather than returning. My role includes:


  • Working together with the store owner and front store manager to ensure smooth daily operations ensuring compliance to corporate standards and programs, seamless customer service and store functionality.
  • Hire, Train and mentor staff in product knowledge and sales techniques.
  • Commitment to ongoing, often unpaid, vendor training to ensure I have the knowledge needed to communicate and effectively train my team and provide excellence in customer service.
  • Consistently organizing promotional strategies to increase foot traffic and enhance customer engagement including store led, vendor supported events.
  • Oversee inventory management, including stock levels, product placement and damages.

  • Developed and implemented my own in-house and on-line beauty profiles for establishing an accessible client base and utilized this to provide regular correspondence about in store offerings and events.
  • Trained cosmetics personnel in sales and daily makeup application techniques to improve recommendations and increase upselling for department. This was new to Shoppers as makeovers were normally only done for big events. This was EXTREMELY successful.
  • Coached cosmetics sales team on promotions and events to increase marketing effectiveness and boost sales of critical merchandise.
