- Investigates or reviews accidents, incidents, work refusals and/or complaints and makes recommendations for prosecution, where necessary
- Participates in the development of regulations to be promulgated pursuant to the Atlantic Accord Implementation Act as well as assists in the development and maintenance of C-NLOPB Codes of Practice, guidelines, interpretation notes and safety notices
- Represents the C-NLOPB on government and industry committees and liaise with international offshore safety regulatory bodies
- Develops and maintains Department procedures, work instructions and databases necessary to record and report on the tasks noted above
