  • Investigates or reviews accidents, incidents, work refusals and/or complaints and makes recommendations for prosecution, where necessary
  • Participates in the development of regulations to be promulgated pursuant to the Atlantic Accord Implementation Act as well as assists in the development and maintenance of C-NLOPB Codes of Practice, guidelines, interpretation notes and safety notices
  • Represents the C-NLOPB on government and industry committees and liaise with international offshore safety regulatory bodies
  • Develops and maintains Department procedures, work instructions and databases necessary to record and report on the tasks noted above
  • Provides reports to senior staff, the Executive, and to other government departments and agencies
  • Mentors newer employees in job duties
  • Maintains offshore petroleum safety & emergency response training as per industry standards as well as safety training as per Board policy and regulations as well as understanding of OH&S and process safety risk
