Additional Information

I have spent twenty-six years in the long term care environment, first as a PSW which I feel gives a solid base to understand the basic cares, rights and needs of my residents. In the last sixteen years as an RN, most of my experience has been spent in a designated "secure" dementia unit which has allowed me to expand my personal skill at problem solving, behaviour management, defusing potentially violent outbreaks and encouraging staff to use gentle persuasion and empathy with responsive residents.

I feel I have exhibited excellent leadership skills through collaborating with current staff and mentoring our new hires.
