Having worked in Construction and Food Service all of my life, now moving into Social Work, I've had the opportunity to meet many different personalities and work on my social, interpersonal skills, while maintaining a professional relationship with both clientele and coworkers. These fields have helped me grow as a person and motivated me to continue into a sector where I can better use my drive to help others and further develop the traits I already possess.
I facilitate the development of healthy coping mechanisms using mindfulness exercises and guided reflection. By empowering clients to take responsibility for their actions, I foster greater accountability and self-reliance. I offer constructive feedback on their progress, encouraging ongoing personal growth. Additionally, I lead groups on stress management, time management, and effective communication to enhance overall quality of life.
I provide relief for families who support individuals with developmental disabilities such as but not limited to Autism, FASD and Down Syndrome. My primary purpose while supporting such individuals is to help integrate them into the community and promote positive and functional behaviours, ensuring a quality of life for both the individual and the families involved.
