• Investigates and resolves complaints of violations or non-adherence to the provision of municipal bylaws and related provincial statutes and regulations on private and public land and properties (e.g.: Community Standards Bylaw, Traffic Bylaw, Clean Property Bylaw, Weed Control Act, etc.)
• Identifies and classifies plants to determine appropriate bylaw enforcement.
• Prepares written file documentation, photographs scenes as necessary for evidence, conducts interviews and performs other investigative functions as necessary in order to achieve compliance.
• Provides technical advice and interpretation of bylaws and regulations for the general public, external stakeholders, and various City departments on matters relating to effective compliance with municipal bylaws and related provincial statutes.
• Prepares correspondence and statistical reports pertaining to inspections and violations ensuring file information is organized and thorough.

• Provide field training to new officers.
• Liaises with other City departments to ensure safe and proper action is taken in handling public and private property.
• Assists in the preparation of requests for prosecutions if unable to obtain voluntary compliance and assists the City Prosecutor's Office in relation to disputes, andclaims including attending court as a witness on violations and criminal matters.
• Performs related duties as required.
