• Strong focus on leading with positivity, driving sustainability in our operations, and continuous improvement of our programs

Achievements:

Led a multi-disciplinary team of professionals to understand causes and implement solutions in response to the Kearl seepage incident and Environmental Protection Order

• Led the team through significant pressure to investigate the incident and implement near-term mitigation measures to manage off-lease impacts

Co-founded and co-led the Kearl Climate Team to drive Greenhouse Gas Intensity improvements within the operation

• Initiated and led the team to generate and implement innovative solutions, including reduced vehicle idling and process optimizations to improve GHGi at Kearl, and contribute to Imperial reaching our 2023 target of 10% GHGi reduction

Led the Kearl Bird Detection and Deterrent Team to implement innovative technologies to reduce bird landings in high risk areas of the operation

• Led the team to implement creative hazing solutions including drones and RADAR-linked cannons, resulting in a 70% reduction in landings in high-risk areas since 2021

Core Responsibilities:

Served as water subject matter expert on environmental regulations and policies for Imperial's upstream operations, including oil sands mining and in-situ developments

• Provided practical plans and solutions to various operations and ensured regulatory compliance for environmental monitoring & management programs

Achievements:

• Led the effort to implement digital solutions including remote data loggers and tablet-based field notebooks to water monitoring programs to improve program accuracy and efficiency
• Led the development of several monitoring plans to improve water program operation and risk management for various assets

Core Responsibilities:

Coordinated Environmental Impact Assessment work for new in-situ oil sands developments

• Effectively coordinated multi-disciplinary teams of employees and contractors to complete environmental assessment field work and generate required regulatory applications

Achievements:

• Completed environmental assessment work for three future in-situ oil sands developments, including Cold Lake Grand Rapids expansion, Aspen SA-SAGD development, and Corner SAGD development

Core Responsibilities:

• Gathered environmental monitoring data for wildlife, fish, vegetation, water and soil programs.
• Performed environmental site assessments and provided remediation recommendations.
• Prepared detailed scientific reports and presentations based on findings.
