With over 30 years of experience in the non-profit sector, I am a dedicated Senior Child and Family Settlement Worker, specializing in supporting refugee families and children. I bring a deep commitment to empowering individuals and communities, having worked extensively with vulnerable populations, including seniors and parents, to foster healthier, more resilient families. I am skilled at building strong partnerships with community organizations, advocating for accessible services, and ensuring seamless transitions between programs. My expertise also includes program evaluation, data management, fundraising, and community outreach. Leadership:

Family Support - Direct Service
· Build relationships of trust and create and maintain a safe environment for children and their families. Assist the family in planning and providing experiences in the home and community which will encourage the growth and development of children 0-6 years old.
· Ensure parents understand and are included in the development of the support plan and consent to any referrals made to other professionals. Participate in the collaborative planning and implementation of play-based programs for children and their families (in-house as well as collaborative groups).
· Introduce the family to community resources and facilitate client access to appropriate and timely services through advocacy, accompaniment, linguistic and cultural interpretation, and support as required. Assist family with transition from the Circles of Care and Connection program to other services. Development of Parent Orientation Workshops
Community Activities
· Work collaboratively with ECD/family service providers to link and integrate families into existing community based ECD /family support programs. Participate in agency meetings, program meetings, team meetings and in-service education as required.
· Provide consultation to daycare centers, school, and community programs where children are also involved. Liaise with social workers and other professionals to establish systemic and collaborative working relationships, where appropriate
· Participate in family conferences with parents, co-workers, and other involved community agency staff regarding the progress of individual children. Assist in the development of a strengths-based mentorship and training strategy that will build the internal capacity of Family Outreach Assistants within their individual communities.
· Work collaboratively with Assistant CFSWs to provide culturally appropriate support to families. Organize and implement specific festivities for children and families as required, including agency-wide events. Represented Mount Pleasant Family Centre Society at Area Service meetings.
Administration
· Ensure documentation / record keeping required is completed in a timely manner and in accordance with program requirements and standards. (Which may include input / creation of case notes, incident reporting, minutes of meetings, letter writing, report writing and summaries.
· Participate in evaluation activities as required, which may include implementation of surveys, collection of data, providing success stories.
· Involved in the hiring committee. Participated in the Fundraising Committee/ Organized the fundraising event for the organization.
· Approached local businesses to fundraise for refugees’ summer and winter events. Other duties as required.
