• Provided discharge teaching for post-op patients, including knee and hip replacements.
• Administered medications via PO, IV drip, IV push and SubQ; managed CVAD care, blood draws and dressing changes.
• Performed NG tube, Foley catheter and SubQ line insertions; performed and assisted with wound care and VAC dressings.
• Managed up to 6 patients per shift, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality care.
• Charted and documented on Meditech, completed chart checks, and monitored post-op vitals
• Responded to changes in patient conditions, calling physicians as needed.

3rd year 3rd Placement: March 2024 - April 2024, SJCG - 2 East Mental Health

• Delivered patient-centered care by conducting mental status assessments and managing care for two primary patients while assisting others as needed.
• Utilized de-escalation techniques for behavioral patients and developed competence in antipsychotic medication administration.

3rd year 2nd Placement: January 2024 - January 2024, TBRHSC - 2B Medical 

• Delivered full care for three patients, including medication administration, IV therapy, dressing changes, wound care and physical assessments.
• Applied time management and knowledge of pathophysiology to ensure safe, effective care and notified primary nurse of abnormalities.

3rd year 1st Placement: October 2023 - November 2023, TBRHSC - 1B Pediatrics 

• Provided family-centered care for paediatric patients, including monitoring growth, development, and vital signs, while recognizing and addressing abnormal findings.
• Cared for eat, sleep, console babies, ensuring individualized care plans to manage neonatal withdrawal and support family involvement.
• Administered medications with precision and safety, prioritizing age-appropriate dosing and patient education to ensure optimal outcomes.

2nd year 2nd Placement: February 2023 - April 2023, TBRHSC - 3A Surgical

• Provided holistic care for two patients, including postoperative assessments, IV medication management, feeding tube care, catheter insertion, and critically monitoring for changes in patient conditions.

2nd year 1st Placement: September 2022 - November 2022, SJCG - 2N-MCS

• Performed vital signs, physical assessments, glucose testing and assisted with activities of daily living.

1st year 1st Placement: February 2022 - March 2022, Southbridge Roseview - LTC Residence
