I am a dedicated Early Childhood Educator with three years of full time experience at Northland Childcare Centre, I have helped create a room environment that is nurturing and supportive. I love learning about the children‘s interests and building upon that through activities, toys, conversations, songs, etc. I have successfully dealt with many conflicts and challenges over the years, such as when we moved from 12 infants to 16 infants in our room, or having to have a difficult conversation with a staff. It is important to me that each child feels safe, cared for, and valued as an individual.
As an Early Childhood Educator it was my role to care for the children while also leading and guiding the room I worked in. I’ve worked in the infant room for 3 years now and have grown in my ability to care for that age group as well as becoming a more confident and capable leader.
I provided for the children’s physical needs such as diaper changes, putting them to sleep, feeding them, etc., while also guiding them in positive behaviour and providing learning opportunities for them through activities and everyday interactions. I care a lot about giving children a nurturing as well as stimulating place to develop.
As an Early Childhood Educator I’ve had to make decisions, handle workplace conflict, and be the primary collaborator with parents. I sent out newsletters, explained accident reports, and gave parents daily updates on how their child’s day was.
