Through my education at CTS Canadian Career College, I have dabbled in many areas of the law where paralegals are allowed to practice. The work I did prior to becoming enrolled at the college, working with the OCPA investigator, and working with a professional engineer, I know that when something doesn't make sense, it's usually not true. Then I endeavor to verify the accuracy to get to the truth. I led our team to victory in our Small Claims mock trial, but know I have more to learn about it. My goal is to absorb as much knowledge and experience to help in reducing the backlog of cases within the overburdened legal system.
After reading a scathing news article, I reached out to the person whose name appeared in other news articles. I found numerous errors and inconsistencies, and helped guide the companies lawyer on breaches of the contract. After my personal dealings with the OCPA investigator, and the above mentioned lawyer, I was encouraged to become a a paralegal. While the lawyer is interested in working with m in th future, at this moment he is unable to take me on as a student placement. Even the professional Engineer they hired commented on my attention to detail. Having read the civil claim and the defence and counter claim, I was able to refute and provide evidence through publicly accessible documents to rebut both the defence and counter claim.
