Since I've graduated, I've been on one trip to Costa Rica alone with my buddy for a little over a month, and I'd like to go on another one just don't know where yet. - I would open the shop at 6:30, prep the coffee, fill a bucket of wetsuit detox for the rental suits, and put up the flags.
- You would also make a morning surf report and story post on the shop's Twitter and Instagram through the shop's phone.
- Once you're done with that, there's usually a list of things that need to be done, left by whoever worked the close prior.
- Those things would usually be to reorganize the wetsuit rack, place an order with our supplier for something, or unload an order that came in.
- When dealing with renters, we had a process of getting their contact information and a picture of their ID before setting them up with a board and suit if they needed one.
- The shifts were from 6:30 to 1:00, or from 1:00 to 6:30.
- One person managed the shop at a time, while the owner of the shop would either surf or manage his other businesses in Washington.
- It was the sickest job ever until he bought a liquor store directly underneath the shop, and the job became two jobs while still getting paid a single salary.

- The shift started with setting up tables inside and outside.
- You would hover to refill water or shine glasses when waiting.
- I watched the food bay where the chef would put the orders. I took them out when they were ready.
- Lit candles usually around 5:30 or 6
- Brought the dirty tablecloth bags to where we put them, and brought the tables and chairs in at the end of the night

- Mainly would get put as host.
- I'd vacuum and light all the candles before opening.
- Discuss the specials with the head chef, and record the amount of each dish. Then I'd print it out and hang it up for the waiters to see.
- I would greet guests, manage reservations, and organize seating arrangements on OpenTable.
- Helped out with bussing duties when slow, while still watching the host booth and entrance.
- Often ran to relative restaurants to get or deliver things like wine bottles or glasses.
