I am passionate about education and have given most of my working life to following that passion. I am dedicated to creating and implementing instruction and assessment to meet both student and provincial education requirements. I have taken time away from the work environment to pursue family and personal goals, and am now very much looking forward to returning to the world of education. I am eager to bring my experience and expertise back to the classroom.
As a home education specialist, I worked both full and part -time with children ranging in age from 7 to 20 years. I worked mainly for one family, providing full time home education for one child from grade 8 through grade 10, while also providing regular tutoring in all subjects for another child from grade 8 through grade 10, followed by continued support in English and Social Sciences into Undergraduate education.
I developed and administered an out of school care and learning program for Kindergarten children.
I have done a great deal of volunteer work over the years. Most recently I was a volunteer with the MARS Wildlife Rescue Center in Merville, B.C. during the course of which I completed my Basic Wildlife Rehabilitation Certificate through the IWRC.
I also volunteered in past years with Girl Guides of Canada, Cantare Children's Choir, Calgary Zoo, Glendale Elementary and Westmount Charter Schools in Calgary.
