Welcome and supervise crews from start of the day, address route changes, Assign and brief "spare" or "new" drivers, support crew and monitor progression along the day using C-FOS and radio communication to ensure collections are done within City standards, safely and within shift hours.
Maintain a safe working environment through adherence to safety protocols and regular site inspections, mandatory incident reporting to Fleet Services or Alberta Environment. Provide support to drivers facing equipment failure or irregular situations. Report incidents and near misses and hazardous situations into the city's SDMS web page.
Ensure time is updated for each employee in the HCM PeopleSoft system and verified for all the department on a weekly basis. Ensure paperwork for employees' time off work is completed accordingly to situations and data is entered on a weekly basis into the Vacation spreadsheet. Enter data from daily activities by the end of each day.
Provide support to district Superintendent by completing assigned tasks and and ensure completion meets expectations.
Complete diverse office duties : Weekly NSC sheets, SDS book, Annual truck permits, Files sent to archives annually, Sanding/Sweeping maps updates, Vacation spreadsheet weekly updates, create or update files and folders as new employees or unit add to the department. Create maintenance work orders as needed, update Special collections folder, renew PPe stocks in storage room,
Provide employee support with : the roll-out of the Botek System, I-Phones issues, Access cards updates, online training, Supply and monitor compliance to PPE according to City's policies. Interact with employees to ensure concerns are listened to and addressed as needed. Ensure new employees are looked after.
Enhance team productivity by providing clear directions, demonstrating high standards, Promoting team work, setting expectations, and offering constructive feedback.
Investigate Customer Service Requests, work with employees and customer to solve issues and ensure the expected level of customer service from the city is met.
Replaced Foremen off duty, assumed position's workload.
