  • Reen Manor is my local riding school in Perranporth, Cornwall
  • Here there are 30 horses and we take out treks with customers
  • Perranporth is one of Cornwall's summer hotspots so we usually get extremely busy during the months of July & August
  • Here I was responsible for taking groups of mixed experiences and ages out for treks on our horses, taking booking over the phone or via email & checking each rider in at reception
  • I’ve worked here since a young age & I have learned a lot from the job role
  • I believe this is where I have gained my abilities to remain cool, calm and collected under high pressure environments.

  • Copiña is located right in the heart of Courchevel 1650, a stones throw from pistes, meaning we were extremely popular at lunch and even more so during the evenings
  • Copiña consists of world wines, craft beers, tailored cocktails and Spanish tapas
  • Everything done here was up to the highest standard
  • Here, a large part of my responsibilities were organising reservations, via email or over the phone, and creating restaurant plans to ensure the smooth running of service
  • I also assisted with the stock take of the bar every 2 weeks
  • Managing the team was a key role to my job here, ensuring standards were kept highty throughout the season, including helping the team with learning the basic French they needed
  • My job also included meeting with local chalet reps to share the Copina brand and what we were all about
  • Ordering products for the bar & cashing up was also my responsibility.

  • Some of my time here was spent in the kitchen preparing the food and baking the cakes
  • I loved my time at Cafe Uneeka and enjoyed the time spent in the kitchen.

  • The Watering Hole is a super busy yet seasonal bar on the beach in Perranporth Cornwall
  • This is by far the busiest place I have worked behind the bar, we hosted live music regularly and always had busy and bustling lunch services
  • We also hosted a music festival on the beach so I was also able to get involved with the set up and running of the bars on the festival site
  • I really enjoyed my time here, I love pushing myself and always giving 100% energy which is what this place required so it was perfect for me
  • They were about to open another bar/cafe on the same beach
  • I was interested in gaining more experience and more responsibility so I transferred to the other venue, Alcatraz.

  • Evolution is a busy restaurant/bar in the French Alps
  • We served breakfast, lunch and A La
  • Carte dinner service in the evenings
  • We hosted live bands 4 nights a week, offered daily bar promotions and had an international banquet every Saturday evening
  • Here I worked both bar and floor but prefered working the bar
  • I really enjoyed learning about and making cocktails
  • During the last couple of months of the season, I was promoted to a shift leader role
  • This meant I had more responsibilities, such as cashing up, managing the team and placing orders.

  • I joined the team just as they were getting ready for a winter season with the horses
  • This yard consisted of 70 horses that we had to manage and maintain
  • Aside from that we would take out regular guided treks with groups of up to 20 clients
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my time there as the team was superb, the scenery was breathtaking and I loved being outdoors with the horses.

  • Lord Kitchener is a busy gastropub in Auckland City
  • Here we could sit about 100 people, we were full most nights and during the day there was a constant flow of people both drinking and dining
  • I truly loved it there
  • We had a great team and the food was to a professional standard

  • The Tywarnhayle Inn is a restaurant/pub situated in a small seaside town in Perranporth

  • We could sit up to 300 people in the restaurant which also led into the beer garden area
  • During the summer months we were extremely busy, fully booked most nights
  • It was a high pressure working environment, however I always worked hard and maintained calmness and professionalism with the influx of customers
  • By the end of the summer season I was promoted to the restaurant manager position and stayed manager until I left in October the following year
  • Here my roles included:

  • Taking bookings, serving customers, constructing desserts and checking stock dates
  • The restaurant manager role included managing orders, training staff, working directly with the kitchen, dealing with customer complaints and organising waiting staff rotas.
