A little red spot could degenerate to an open wound with drain and foul odor if not swiftly attended to. Basically, every small or big, open or closed wound start from a little, sometimes neglected red or purple spot depending on the skin types. As a paraprofessional, I am directly in contact with the skin of my clients on a daily basis and since I am the eyes and ears to the healthcare team, it is my duty to report any unusual spot i witness during care to the team for better assessment.
Clients skincare products, dresses, footwear and exposure to sunlight and other radiations must be taken into considerations when discussing wound care.
