Worked independently on a project involving the use of tools such as GenBank and MEGA X to construct a phylogenetic tree of the sodium-hydrogen exchanger (NHE) gene in crustaceans. Initiated and organized a fundraiser to build a wheelchair ramp for and pave the perimeter of a neglected orphanage in Guyana, successfully raising over $6000. Key responsibilities included publicizing the fundraiser, coordinating fundraising efforts with the team, contacting donors and collecting donations and keeping in touch with the shelter throughout the process.
