Working with a nonverbal individual with a profound intellectual disability that includes the following:

• Assisting individual with dressing, bathing, feeding, and light exercise
• Implementing productive activities such as puzzles, matching objects, stacking blocks, to continue to build intellectual and fine motor skills
• Exploring and learning ways to effectively communicate with and teach the individual via use of sign language, a GoTalk device, and/or singing and playing instruments as they thrive with musical communication
• Consistently communicating with parents regarding daily activities the individual can do to build life skills and independence where appropriate, and how we can eventually expand those activities to challenge them
• These activities consist of small chores, such as washing the dishes he used at lunch time, sorting laundry into colours, etcetera

• Provided companionship to a woman with Multiple Sclerosis
• Many of our activities included cleaning/organizing things around her house, gardening, banking, watching television, etcetera
• Assisted with toileting and perineal care, transferring her to and from via one-person transfer and ceiling tract lift, and feeding

• Facilitate group activities and lessons on communication/social skills
• Helping the children strengthen their social skills from guidance of the Speech-Language Pathologist through games and conversation with peers
• Create friendships with the children to help build their skills and confidence in social interactions
• Modeling skills such as initiating, maintaining, and ending conversations, turn taking, and asking friends to play

• 4+ sessions in relocating ISTAR's offices and talking with clients so they can utilize conversational and social skills they have learned throughout their treatment.

• Aided residents with dressing, bathing, perineal care, grooming, and feeding needs, as well as helping to overcome, and adapt to mobility restrictions
• Helped residents safely transition between sleeping surfaces and mobility assistance such as wheelchairs, via mechanical lift or one/two-person transfers
• Determined specific needs and provided the most appropriate level of services for patient well-being
• Offered support for the resident's mental and emotional needs to enhance physical outcomes and overall happiness.

• Maintained current knowledge of evolving changes in the marketplace
• Organized racks and shelves to maintain store visual appeal, engage customers, and promote specific merchandise
• Answered customer questions about sizing, accessories, and merchandise care
• Contributed to team objectives in a fast-paced environment.
