Working with a nonverbal individual with a profound intellectual disability that includes the following:
Assisting individual with dressing, bathing, feeding, and light exercise
Implementing productive activities such as puzzles, matching objects, stacking blocks, to continue to build intellectual and fine motor skills
Exploring and learning ways to effectively communicate with and teach the individual via use of sign language, a GoTalk device, and/or singing and playing instruments as they thrive with musical communication
Consistently communicating with parents regarding daily activities the individual can do to build life skills and independence where appropriate, and how we can eventually expand those activities to challenge them
These activities consist of small chores, such as washing the dishes he used at lunch time, sorting laundry into colours, etcetera
