I am a certified industrial Arts teacher graduated from the joint industrial arts/teacher education program at Red River College and the University of Winnipeg. I have completed my Diploma from red river, Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education with a second major in History. I have completed a Post Baccalaurate degree as well as a professional Masters in Indigenous education. Currently, I am employed as the acting Principal at Frontier Collegiate Institute in Northern Manitoba. I chair the igniting the eighth fire committee as well as sit on the curriculum standing committee with MTS. Principle skills and abilities in all areas of industrial arts include: graphic communications, woodworking, automotive, electronics, metalworking and technology education. I am a Qualified administrator with long history in education and dedication to school performance, teacher training and student success. Attentive to pulse of school to proactively manage negative trends and recognize success in teachers and methods. Hands-on in mentoring teachers and supporting students.
Have participated in many different sports including baseball, football, badminton, golf, soccer (city champs 2001), hockey, volleyball (junior high coach 2007), tennis, curling (attended Morden provincial curling camps and competed in high school provincial championships), bowling (competed provincially 3 times). I have a great interest in music; I play guitar, harmonica, saxophone and clarinet. I have spent many hours at swimming pools training how to educate people to be safe around water and how to rescue those who are injured in an aquatic setting. I have done many backcountry canoe and/or backpacking trips both with scouts and independently including the Mantario trail.
