Shanae Pomeroy

My role in this job includes providing support for individuals living with chronic mental illness in the development of skills of daily living, interpersonal/coping/problem-solving/symptom management skills, and other life/wellness skills. My regular duties include medication management and administration, counselling, and assisting and educating residents with cooking meals safely and successfully, advocating for safe substance use, ensuring residents are attending appointments and assisting with transportation, planning and partaking in social outings.

This job allowed me to engage regularly with children varying from six months - eight years of age and assisting them with activities of daily living such as personal hygiene, toileting, meal times, napping, as well as facilitating various activities to promote well rounded development and growth. I assisted in healthy and positive interactions amongst children. Communicating with parents\guardians about concern, progress, and general well-being of their children.

This position includes assisting with personal care such as hygiene, toileting, feeding and utilizing TLR techniques to transfer and mobilize participants. Supervising and providing assistance while participants perform work duties at various jobs locations. Organize various activities and facilitate life and vocational skills. Took part in therapy such as swimming, laughter yoga, and physical therapy.
