Accomplished Admin, Patrol, Street Team and Federal Law Enforcement Officer. Expert in fostering community policing initiatives, leading high-stakes investigations, and enhancing community security. Skilled in conflict de-escalation and multitasking, committed to mentoring future leaders.
My role extended to advertising all INSET training sessions, enrolling participants, and supervising a team of eight public servants. I also kept senior management informed about staffing updates and collaborated closely with HR to advertise job openings within INSET and conduct interviews to hire new public servants. Additionally, I organized the participation of international speakers at conferences held at the headquarters. I also worked overtime with the watch in North Vancouver as a Senior Patrol NCO.
I reviewed and audited all the overtime and expense claims for the Detachment's 130 members. On one occasion, I discovered that one member was claiming overtime on several occasions that he did not do. I alerted the Senior Manager Team, and an internal investigation started. As a critical team member, I liaised with the Disability Management and Accommodation Team. Our collaborative efforts involved reviewing all the Duty to Accommodate requests and facilitating employees' return with medical restrictions, ensuring a smooth transition. I also worked overtime with the watch as a Senior Patrol NCO. I created job advertisements for the detachment to fill our vacancies.
I acted and was responsible for managing the daily scheduling of patrol personnel to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours and special events. I worked closely with the Senior Leadership Team and the District Duty Officer. My primary responsibilities included writing Briefing Notes, demonstrating my meticulous attention to detail and ensuring the team's operations ran smoothly. I also handled leave requests, scheduled coverage for shortages, and commanded on-scene tactical teams during critical incidents such as the Lynn Valley Stabbing and the Deep Cove. Additionally, I mentored junior officers in recruiting and coding confidential informers. I effectively led investigations, ensured safety protocols were followed, and handled high-pressure situations.
I have experience mentoring junior officers to help them learn the best practices in law enforcement tactics and strategies. I also guided junior officers in writing ITOs, using confidential informants' intelligence and pedigree. In recognition of my professionalism and exceptional judgment in a high-pressure situation, I received a Bravery Award and a Meritorious Service Award for dealing with a threatening male holding a knife to the throat of a child hostage. Additionally, I regularly evaluated officers' performance, identified areas for improvement, and provided constructive feedback. I supervised the Community Response Uniform Team, targeting prolific offenders through search warrants, undercover operations, surveillance, and proactive policing. By applying strong leadership talents and problem-solving skills, I maintained team efficiency and organized workflows.
I interviewed victims, witnesses, and suspects to gather crucial investigation information. I also testified in court, providing credible testimony that contributed to successful prosecutions. I led a team of officers during a high-risk warrant service, ensuring safety and successfully apprehending fugitives. Additionally, I liaised between federal law enforcement agencies and the private sector, promoting collaboration on critical security issues. As a file coordinator for a helicopter smuggling operation, our U.S. and Canadian enforcement teams intercepted more than 17 drug loads, including a shipment in February 2005 involving five suitcases packed with about 3,640 kilograms of marijuana, 65 kilograms of cocaine, three aircraft, and $1.5 million. I managed multiple confidential informants for various projects, such as PANDORA and ICE Project Frozen Timbers. I wrote search warrants, general warrants, and tracking warrants for helicopters, working closely with external agencies, including ICE, DEA, Customs, and Transport Canada. I also conducted undercover operations and served as the primary investigator for a project involving corrupt employees at YVR.
I prepared detailed reports documenting daily patrols, incidents encountered, and actions taken during shifts. I worked with the Strike Force. I investigated incidents and crimes, collected evidence, and recorded witness statements. I enhanced public safety by patrolling assigned areas and promptly responding to emergencies. I taught the DARE Program, recruited 25 confidential informants, wrote 19 CDSA search warrants, conducted surveillance, and received a Commander Officer Appreciation award for capturing notorious bank robbers.
