  • Volunteer Fire Fighter , 06/2024 - Present, Lions Bay Fire Rescue. New Volunteer Position. 400+ hours er year expected.
  • Rescue Team Member - Level 4 , 2004 - Present, Jericho Rescue, Vancouver, Level 4 team member (instructor level). Qualified to run all on water events, train and supervise level 1-3 team members, and perform rescues in any weather. Provide first aid as required up to training level. Coordinating SAR operations with Coast Guard and VPD. Non-rescue volunteer work includes event setup and planning, building maintenance (installing/maintaining Audio Visual and Card Access systems), supporting staff tasks whenever possible and promoting water safety and education to the public. Estimated 100-200+ annual volunteer hours.
  • Event Volunteer , 05/2024 - Present, Vancouver Pride Society, Vancouver, Event setup and community engagement. New volunteer position. 20+ hours per year expected.
  • Medical First Responder , 05/2024 - Present, St. John Ambulance, Vancouver, Provide first aid for the public during events at Rogers Arena. On average 8 attendants provide first aid services in the 19,700 capacity stadium. Maximum treatment level is limited to the Saint John Ambulance Advanced First Responder scope. Responsibilities include radio communications, integrating into the command structure, and providing patient care. Initial Orientation is complete and I have booked duty shifts starting in August 2024. Minimum annual commitment - 100 hours per year.
  • Sailing Companion , 2004 - 2006, Disabled Sailing Association of BC, Vancouver, Taking people who have disabilities out sailing in a specialized sailboat. This is a one-on-one experience in a small sailboat. Responsible for the wellbeing of my sailing companion during a session and had to provide a safe and enjoyable experience. This was a highly community-based volunteer position revolving around a friendly attitude backed up with skills and safety. Estimated 100+ hours per year.
  • Assistant Bike Instructor , 2005 - Present, Pedal Heads, Vancouver, Helped out with U-14 bike camps. Help teach kids how to ride bikes, keep an eye on kids throughout the daily ride, perform basic maintenance where required.
  • Volunteer Sailing Instructor , 2004 - 2006, Mac Sailing, Vancouver, Daily duties included fueling up all coach boats in the morning, rigging and launching trainer sailboats for the kids, instructing or sailing with students, rescuing students in high wind, and putting boats away at the end of the day.
