Work History

Regional Facility Manager

Government of Nunavut
Pond Inlet, Nunavut
10.2025 - Current
  • On October 6th, 2025, I spread my wings and joined the Government of Nunavut as Regional Facility Manager for the Qikiqtaaluk Region. I am a contract employee. I have enjoyed my time here immensely but the contract term is expiring this summer.
  • While engaged with the Government of Nunavut I have been able to demonstrate entrepreneurial ownership of Projects assigned to me. My time here presented unique challenges that have added value to my experience as a Facility Manager involved in building maintenance across a myriad of buildings and systems. During my time here I was also able to engage and explore a territory and a culture that has long intrigued me. I have been fortunate to develop both relationships and understanding here in the worlds largest, self-governed, indigenous land claim.

Regional Manager Engineering + Maintenance

Pacific Region
06.2020 - 10.2025

Managed regional operations as Regional Manager, Engineering and Maintenance from December 2022 to October 2025. Supervised three chiefs of facilities management across the region. Directed all human resource and financial management for facilities management departments at each site.

During this time I was responsible for a staff of 80+ Trades people, Maintenance Specialists and Administrative staff. I was also responsible for an Operations and Maintenance Budget exceeding nine-million dollars and an equivalent salary budget.

Chief Facilities Management

Mission Clustered Services
Mission BC
06.2016 - 12.2022
  • In June of 2016, due to a reorganization of Technical Services and Facilities Management, I deployed to the position of Chief Facilities Management for a new Cluster of Institutions known as “Mission Clustered Services”. This increased responsibility included the overall Facilities Management of four Federal Institutions. They are, Mission Institution, both Medium and Minimum Sites in Mission BC, William Head Institution in Victoria and Kwìkwèxwelhp Healing Village in Harrison Mills. This assignment holds budgetary responsibility for Operational and Maintenance (O+M) funds more than $3,300,000.00 annually as well as a Salary Budget of over $3,000,000.00.
  • In this role I was responsible for the day-to-day Maintenance and repair of well over 200 Federal Buildings and approximately 600 acres of Federal Reserve Property.

Chief Facilities Management

Matsqui Institution
09.2014 - 06.2016
  • During this time, I was performing the duties of my substantive position as Chief Facilities Management for Matsqui Institution and the Regional Supply Depot for the Correctional Service of Canada. In this position I was responsible for a staff of 16 and an O+M Budget of $1,300,000 on a 232-acre reserve with a total of 55 Federal Buildings.

Regional Manager of Operations

CORCAN Pacific
12.2013 - 09.2014
  • I acted as the Regional Manager of Operations for CORCAN Pacific. CORCAN is special entity within CSC that is responsible for employment and employability of inmates. In order to deliver CORCANs mandate CORCAN is engaged in many areas such as manufacturing and construction and renovation. CORCAN trains and employs inmate workers to complete contracts assigned through various venues including performing work for other Government Departments such as the Department of National Defense (DND). As such I was responsible for oversight of numerous and varied divisions such as construction, manufacturing and sales. In this role I also performed all financial and staffing duties required of the Regional Manager Operations.

Chief Facilities Management

Matsqui Institution
09.2013 - 11.2013
  • I performed the duties of my substantive position as Chief Facilities Management for Matsqui Institution and the Regional Supply Depot.

Acting Assistant Warden Management Services (A/AWMS)

Pacific Institution
03.2013 - 09.2013
  • During this period I was the Acting Assistant Warden Management Services (A/AWMS) for Pacific Institution. This role greatly enhanced my experience due to the nature of the site which has a more complex inmate population as well as a number of programs and services which are significantly different from what is offered at Matsqui Institution. Pacific Institution is also home to the Regional Treatment Centre which is a fully accredited Hospital within the confines of the Penitentiary grounds.

Chief Facilities Management

Matsqui Institution
12.2012 - 03.2013
  • I briefly returned to my substantive position as Chief Facilities Management at Matsqui Institution.

AWMS

Matsqui Institution
06.2011 - 12.2012
  • As of June 2011 I acted continuously in the role of AWMS at Matsqui Institution. As such I was responsible for the planning and implementation of multiple programs integral to the ongoing health, safety and security of correctional Institution housing male Federal offenders in a medium security environment. Additionally, the ongoing safety of the general public is also always top of mind. The management services division contributes to this goal through the support of operational routines such as the feeding of the aforementioned inmates as well as other programs such as inmate employment.

Chief of Maintenance + Engineering

Matsqui Institution
05.2009 - 06.2011
  • Upon the retirement of the previous Chief of Maintenance + Engineering, our maintenance department was re-structured. At that time the decision was made to eliminate the Supervisor position at that Institution. I was then assessed against the merit criteria of the higher position and being successful, was subsequently appointed to the position of Chief of Maintenance + Engineering.

Supervisor Maintenance + Engineering

Matsqui Institution
01.2006 - 01.2009
  • From 2006 until 2008 I “acted” many times as Supervisor Maintenance + Engineering. Two of these occasions were long-term and in August of 2008 I was the successful candidate in the competition held to staff the Supervisor of Maintenance + Engineering position and was subsequently appointed to that role.

  • Employed in the Maintenance Department of Matsqui Institution. Responsible for all plumbing related work in the Matsqui Institution as well as a number of the outside buildings on the complex proper. Also responsible for all “GAS” lines and appliances within said domain as well as charged with testing and maintenance of all Fire-Protection Sprinkler Systems and “Cross-Connection Control Devices”. During my time at this Institution, I have also performed duties beyond the normal maintenance routine such as assisting security staff in searching during lockdowns as well as also having the opportunity to “ACT” for set periods of time as Supervisor of Matsqui’s Works Department.

Corrections Exemplary Service Medal

Canadian honor awarded to correctional staff with at least 20 years of full-time, "exemplary" service—defined by good conduct, industry, and efficiency. At least 10 years must involve direct offender contact, such as in prisons, parole, or probation. As a member of the Maintenance team providing service to Federal Penitentiaries we were fortunate to be able to work with and train federal offenders. This work was especially gratifying when resulting in offenders being "indentured" into apprenticeships which provided an alternative for inmates upon release to be able to secure meaningful work.
