Compassionate and enthusiastic third-year BScN student with a strong background in patient- and family-centered care, and pediatric medical traumatic stress. Passionate about interdisciplinary collaboration and quality improvement, I excel in engaging patients and families, ensuring alignment with their values, while promoting evidence-based practices.
In this role, using the patient perspective as a scientific committee member, I provide input on scientific direction and the approval of existing and new projects, making recommendations to the executive committee. Specifically, receiving and following fair processes to review and evaluate identified research gaps and priorities, create linkages with other networks, be responsible for data access and governance of appropriate statistical analysis planning, and review internal and new project protocols. Additionally, I have co-initiated the patient and family engagement strategy. Of note, this role is part time.
As a patient partner, I advise on patient and family engagement in research methods, ensuring research projects are in line with the values of patients and families, and educating clinicians on engaging with patients and families in research.
In this role, I had the privilege to serve as a youth advisor for a maximum of two terms (four years). I advised on numerous aspects pertaining to the health and well-being of children and youth in Canada today. Examples include advising on the CIHR IHDCYH 2022-2026, peer review, and collaborating with researchers to provide advice on youth-specific gaps in research and healthcare.
