Students will locate a job posting for their chosen SCMT industry specific career and will then compile a combination style resume along with a professional cover letter and three references in preparation for their job search.

Assignmentdetails

This is an individual assignment and may not be completed in pairs or groups. Each student will locate a recent job posting in their field, and using this job posting will prepare a professional cover letter, combination style resume and three references. This assignment is submitted two times and the same grading checklist is used both times. The goal is for students to achieve a “perfect” mark on this assignment by the end of the course! Students are encouraged to schedule a one-on-one meeting to review their resume with the Professor and/or Career Services prior to each submission

  • In a MS WORD format for this assignment each time it is submitted: the job posting you are applying for, your cover letter, your resume, your references (minimum 3, maximum 5).
  • Failure to submit all 4 relevant documents will result in a mark of zero (0) for this assignment

Students will upload all 4 documents on or before the due date and to the DC Connect Drop Box. NOTE: As per the course outline, late assignments are penalized at 20% per calendar day and after 3 days a mark of zero (0) will be assigned.
