Cedar is a virtual accounting firm with a team of three (including myself) that serves corporate and individual clients across Alberta and BC. My role includes:

Review of all work prepared within the firm;

• Team development, mentorship & training;
• Client and community relations;
• Professional development and quality management;
• All of the items from my role at Collaborative CPA.

As a CPA student I co-founded this firm with a colleague from the industry; my contributions included:

• Sourcing and implementing software;
• Content creation, website copy, marketing strategy;
• Internal policy making and drafting internal manuals;
• Team recruitment, onboarding and training;
• Client and community relations;
• Building internal templates & infrastructure
• Preparation and review of corporate and individual accounting and tax work.

For about 12 years I was a staff accountant and then articling student at a few firms in Grande Prairie, Alberta. My roles included:

• Preparation of compilation, review, and audit engagements ranging from owner/operator to large corporate and municipal audits (junior level on audits as part of articling);
• Personal and corporate tax preparation and filing;
• Training and mentorship of team members;
• Responding to various CRA review/audit items;
• Preparation and filing of T4/T5/T4a/T5018 slips and WCB/Worksafe BC
• GST, payroll, bookkeeping.
