Mikey B Rishwain

I am currently serving as Talent Buyer, Artistic Director, Artist Relations, Head of International Relations and Conference Director at M For Montreal since 2007. In this role, I am responsible for negotiating and acquiring up to 200 performances per year within the greater Montreal area and building solid relationships with the majority of international record labels and I also have experience programming for various international festivals such as SXSW, The Great Escape (UK), Iceland Airwaves, NXNE, CMW, Reeperbahn, and Liverpool Sound City (UK). One of my key responsibilities at M For Montreal is to invite, confirm, and host over 150 international labels, festival buyers, music supervisors, and industry professionals at our annual conference in November in hopes to connect them with Canadian industry. Through this, I have been able to help export and launch the careers of Montreal artists such as GRIMES, Mac Demarco, Men I Trust, Charlotte Cardin and more. Additionally, I am the lead Talent Buyer for music venues Crybaby and Ceremony in Oakland California as well as The Santa Teresa Festival in Quebec, where I have booked artists such as Daniel Caesar, MGMT, Princess Nokia, $NOT, Pussy Riot, Lil Uzi Vert, and many more. I have also worked with indiemedia giant BrooklynVegan, curating talent and producing events at various festivals across the US, Canada, UK, and Iceland. I have full knowledge of the Quebec live music spectrum and have been working with every venue and promoter in Montreal since 2007.
