In the process of completing my Bachelor' s Degree in Law and Legal Studies from Carleton University, and an Online Certificate in Environmental Conservation with the University of Guelph. Recreational activities are: volunteering with at risk equine, bovine, and waterfowl.   • Responsible for collaborating information with the organization’s other volunteers regarding about how Ontario could adopt the use of pesticides that do not cross the human blood-brain barrier, as has been achieved in Quebec in the province’s banning of chlorpyrifos and and most notably, GLYPHOSATE!

  • Worked at several heritage sites maintained by the MRCA to complete labour tasks. Most prominently, at the Hersey Lake Conservation Area. I was taught to refine public walking-trail surfaces using a Forward Plate Compacter, Drain Spade, Trenching Shovel, and a Trail Sculptor. Materials used by my Maintenance Crew consisted of crushed stone, dust and chip gravel, and exposed rock.
  • Worked alongside a crewmate and contractor to repair potholes and loose gravel in the parking lot at the Gillies Lake Conservation Area. Tar sealer was applied to each pothole once filled with asphalt, so that the mixture’s coal tar emulsion properties solidified each hole. Asphalt loading, pouring and patching were acquired from this experience.
  • Gathered picture evidence of weather-related damage to MRCA-managed properties. Pictures were later forwarded to an Environmental Consulting Agency for Repair Estimates.
  • Accompanied Field Supervisor, Crystal Percival, in changing trail cameras in the local trail network of 15 paths. Footage from these cameras is monitored by the Organization to ensure public usage of these trails that is both safe, and respectful to the natural environment.
  • Visited Earle E. Miller Public School to present the Yellowfish Road program to 3 classes of 5th grade students. Taught to them, was proper wastewater management, the locations of municipal rainwater drains, and the degradation that occurs in aquatic systems when water contaminants are disposed of inanapropriately. (In the drains identified by a Yellow Fish symbol.)

  • Mentored and encouraged youth to establish an improved sense of confidence in the water by assisting children aged 3 to 8 in learning basic swimming strokes with the assistance of flotation devices.
  • Instructed children on how to perform several basic swim strokes, including: Starfish on their stomachs and backs, flutter kick, and squid kick while allowing them to practise being able to swim without any artificial aid once their technique was adequate
  • Developed and followed weekly lesson plans from Adult Head Coaches, and reported to them the progress of each child. (Ie: Whether he or she was meeting milestones outline in the TImmins Future Olympians guidelines. These included, being able to identify exit points to the pool, treading water for 10 seconds, being comfortable in submerging their heads, entering and exiting the water without assistance, and other basic skills such as pushing off the pool wall and entering a proper streamline.
  • Assessed the needs of individual swimmers, and allocated time to their individual coaching, should the need for such be established by the program's director.
