Volleyball is sport that involves constant teamwork, positivity and determination. To play volleyball at a high level a good athlete needs proficient communication skills and trust between teammates. Playing volleyball has helped teach me the importance of positive communication between team members along with the importance of being a reliable team player, whether that is in sport or a co-worker. I also had the opportunity to be an assistant Coach for my old high-school's JV boys team. I came up with practice plans and got to help create a environment where the young men I was coaching felt comfortable and supported. I was recently invited back to be the head coach for my old high school's SV boys team, our season just ended and it was an overall amazing experience seeing the improvement in skill and confidence over the season. I am very grateful to have been given this opportunity to inspire young athletes and share my love of the sport with them, as well as making connections and ties with the community.
