Summary

After graduating in 2000 with a Diploma in Nursing from Durham College in Oshawa, Ontario, I worked in a medicine and advanced my skills and knowledge to critical care starting in 2002, from there I consolidated my nursing skills through working in ER, the Cath lab and then onto a critical care unit at Lakeridge Health Oshawa (LHO) where I spent 10 years. I became certified in Critical Care nursing in 2014. Throughout my time at LHO I took many workshops, some topics covered were leadership and workplace violence and prevention. I have also had many part-time jobs during that period from 2000-2015 for example working with children with special needs, camp nursing, dental surgery nursing, community visiting nursing, long term care, teaching critical care in a simulation lab and agency nursing where I went to ICU's to fill in, all of these varied experiences have given me a wide range perspective on how care can be delivered.
