• Providing in-house legal services on a variety of matters such as contracts, consent and capacity, privacy, capital development projects, corporate governance, risk management, clinical and non-clinical policy development and revision, intellectual property, procurement, litigation, strategic alliances, insurance, internal and external public relations communications, retention and management of external legal counsel and consultants. • Company Overview: In-house Counsel and Manager of Risk Management for three major downtown hospitals and Toronto Medical Laboratories and legal support to their respective Foundations.
• Legal Responsibilities: Providing legal advice, information and education to hospital administration and staff on a wide variety of legal, insurance and risk issues; managing legal claims and human rights complaints; Drafting and reviewing of service contracts, RFPs, purchasing and affiliation agreements; liaising with hospital insurer and external counsel on a variety of ethical, legal and insurance matters, Drafting, reviewing and revising corporate and departmental policies, and negotiating with various companies (IT, medical device, pharmaceutical) with respect to service, contract and product issues.

• Company Overview: Boutique civil litigation firm. The firm’s portfolio included: administrative law, contracts, medical malpractice, employment, human rights, real estate, intellectual property, proceedings against the Crown, defamation and personal injury.
