Justin is a queer P.O.C. creative born and raised in Calgary, AB. His relationship with social media building, branding, and marketing is well versed as he gained skills through event coordinating, traditional education, and photography and videography distribution/promotion. His achievements include: marketing events through social media posts and graphic designed posters (with attendance of over 175+ guests both inside and outside of Alberta, and selling out to capacity of a venue), creating content on Tik Tok with multiple videos surpassing 13k views (highest viewed Tik Tok gaining over 65.8k views), garnering 1.8k followers on a personal Instagram account, and gaining sponsorships for events and networking with stakeholders via social media.
Thanks to his background in film and video production, he also has experience writing, planning and executing professionally made commercials, advertisements, and social media posts, is well versed in software programs such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Light Room, Canva, and Davinci Resolve.
Outside of school and work, Justin integrates himself in many third spaces as a local Calgary artist. He has a strong connection with the queer underground sub-culture known as Ballroom (popularized by films and TV shows such as Paris is Burning (1990), Pose (2018-2021), and Legendary (2020-2022)) and is a leader for the local ballroom scene here in Calgary. He also has a sharp eye for details when it comes to everything fashion and design, which aids in creating aesthetic social media posters. He also participates in the street dance culture/scene in Calgary, having trained in styles of Vogue, Waacking, and Breaking. His background in Film has also helped him create his network of other local Calgary indie film makers. His diverse network of communities can be utilized as a strong asset for marketing, networking, and client building.
