Through my commitment to Roadway Maintenance I have continually pursued growth opportunities which has enabled me to be a well rounded asset with a solid track record in various positions. I've proven to be a natural leader with the ability to adapt, utilizing a extensive skill set to coach and mentor. My time as a Temporary District Supervisor gave me great growth personally and professionally, I take pride in leading and developing my team. My willingness to volunteer has allowed me to take on roles such as Co-Chair of the JHSC , vacation coverage for Roadway Compliance Patrol, and onboarding new employees. Respond to Hansons and service orders and perform required actions. Lead and work with team members to ensure best practices are implemented, following all standard operating procedures. Acknowledge and assist the public and contractors with any concerns and provide proper support when required. Operate tandem axle plow trucks, wheel loader and equipment required to respond to winter weather events. Operations including plowing and salting to both municipal and provincial standards (MMS, MTO).
Operate, clean out and maintain street sweeper.
I was responsible to schedule and plan snow removal at bus stops and crosswalks, coordinating equipment, material and labor, mapping and optimizing route efficiency. I was an integral member in the planning and execution of the snowblower snow removal program.
I was tasked with providing new winter program operators training and assistance with plow and salter operation as well as assisting them with proper paperwork and route competence.
I was appointed Leadhand on the ditching crew, I was responsible to organize the traffic control per book 7, direct and work with the HEO and team on the installation of culverts. Perform ditching, using the Transit Laser System to ensure proper fall to allow for successful drainage. Ensuring locates and all paperwork's complete.
I've also trained my peers on how to use the transit rotary laser level.
I was assigned Leadhand on the hotbox asphalt team, responsible to coach and motivate the crew to perform asphalt repairs to MMS roads standards, also ensuring all required documentation was correct and complete.
I was voted by my peers to be the Heath & Safety Representative for our district in Roads, As a certified member of the JHSC for Roadway Maintenance I have contributed to many situations including; work refusal, parklane reviews, inspections, employee concerns, roundtable discussions and interactions with the Ministry of Labour.
