The course was designed around a term-long research project in partnership with the UBC SEEDS (Social Ecological Economic Development Studies) Sustainability Program with direct implications to campus life.
➢ My group's research was in partnership with UBC FoodHub Market which is an at cost grocery store on campus designed to combat food insecurity.

The FentaNIL Project
A multi-provincial student-led organization focused on mitigating the impact of the opioid crisis through education and harm reduction strategies.
➢ I joined because substance use disorder is relevant to me and those close to me. I saw this as an opportunity to educate others and make a positive impact on the community, especially now during the opioid epidemic.
Fundraising for prostate cancer and men's mental health.
➢ Helped organize the campaign in 2020 with a group of friends, we raised $11,000 over the month.
➢ A very fun way to raise awareness about men's mental health and the importance of talking about men's problems.
Mental Health Seminar Vancouver BC, September 2021
Ran a mental health seminar/workshop for a large group of friends and peers.
➢ I wanted to have a somewhat intimate and realistic conversation about mental health that goes beyond the surface level.
➢ The event was very informative and a very rewarding experience overall. I hope to do another in the new year.
A group of friends and I prepared either sandwiches or small care packages that include toiletries, clothes, and water that we distribute to people experiencing homelessness in the downtown lower east side of Vancouver.
➢ I helped organize the event in 2021, in which 30 people distributed over a hundred care-packages.
➢ A very simple way to give back to the community and meet people around the lower east side. I hope to dedicate my time regularly at a women's shelter or safe injection site this summer.
➢ Although it is no longer organized with friends, to this day I often go to the DTES and spend time talking to people and learning their experiences and purchasing supplies like clothes, food and water for them. I don’t believe you have to operate out of an organization or group to help your community.
