Accomplishments
From January 2023 through till April 2023 I worked with various community entities in Canmore, Alberta to help resolve community, environmental and indigenous issues. These tasks involved working with indigenous youth and community leaders to better understand their needs and priorities. This experience (HOWL Semester) offered me a new perspective on indigenous and environmental issues in Canada. Throughout the I participated in a large variety of outdoor activities and was engaged in various indigenous practices and activities. I was able to complete my Emergency First Aid (EFA0739) and Avalanche Response Training (AST1) in this program. There was also a group project at the end of the program that showcased our abilities to the group and public.
