Cover Letter

Director and Senior Management,

I am applying for a position as a Policy Analyst at the Ontario Public Services because of the opportunities to create government aligned change through contributing to meaningful policy work. As indicated with my resume, I have already been successful in an Indigenous Internship position at both the Ministry of ENERGY and Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Gaming. My role in each ministry provided significant experience in policy work whether it was through participating in extensive research, interjurisdictional scans, or direct consultations and stakeholder outreach. This internship has been an incredible learning experience and I am certain I want to remain in the Ontario Public Services to expand my knowledge regarding policy research and implementation. Though I have learned immensely through these internship roles, I feel equipped to further my policy career in a more permanent role. With my ability to learn, I know I can quickly gain any knowledge necessary to become an asset to your team. I have effective communication skills and the motivation to take on challenging work. I am also skilled at composing business correspondence, interpreting policy requirements, contextualizing research, and reviewing policy details. I am confident that I have the focus, organization, team-working skills and experience you require and hope to fulfill this role. Should you have any questions or wish to discuss things further, please do not hesitate to reach out via telephone or email. I greatly anticipate hearing back from you at your nearest convenience.

Thank you so much,

Jaclyn Robb
