  • As a full-time Co-op Student at Emterra in Renfrew, ON, I worked directly under my father, the lead millwright, gaining valuable hands-on experience in machinery maintenance and repair. I assisted with operating and maintaining equipment, troubleshooting issues, and performing general upkeep. Over time, I developed the ability to diagnose problems and find efficient solutions in a timely manner, as well as predict potential negative outcomes and implement preventive measures to ensure maximum efficiency. I completed training in operating forklifts, bucket loaders, scissor lifts, and also received fall arrest certification, which allowed me to take on more responsibilities and safely manage a variety of tasks. This role helped me build strong technical skills, a deeper understanding of waste management and environmental sustainability, and the ability to work with minimal supervision, all while maintaining a high level of safety and operational effectiveness.
