Duties include:
Preventative Maintenance inspections, crack repair, line boring, ice lugging, as well as custom fabrication.
Repair and rebuilds on haul truck frames and dump bodies, Dozer blades and undercarriage components, and excavator/shovel buckets and attachments.
Heavy Equipment specialist. Repair and maintenance on all makes and models of heavy mining equipment including shovels, haul trucks, excavators, dozers, loads, graders. Servicing the Alberta oil sands region both on client sites via mobile welding rig, and at the Shaw's Shop.
Duties include:
Preventative maintenance inspections, structural crack repair, line boring, custom fabrication, ice lugging.
Complete rebuilds for haul truck frames, Dump bodies, Dozer blades, Dozer undercarriage components, Excavator buckets, and attachments.
New construction, repair and alteration of oil and gas processing equipment including pressure vessels, pressure piping and structural components.
Welding and fabrication in shop, as well as on site utilizing mobile welding trucks.
Also regularly perform repair and maintenance on agricultural machinery and heavy equipment.
Demonstrate proficiency with all welding processes including SMAW, GMAW, FCAW and GTAW.
Construction of engineered oil and gas processing systems.
Reading and interpretation of blueprints to fit up skid packages.
SMAW and FCAW welding in all positions.
Welding of mild steel and stainless steel.
Use weld procedure specifications (WPS) to determine proper weld preparation. All welds inspected to CSA W47.1 standards.
Safely rigging and lifting individual pieces as well as entire packages.
Use of Oxy-fuel cutting equipment and arc-gouging equipment.

Plan and execute projects to remain within scheduled deadlines.
Direct and supervise apprentice welders and general laborers.

Helped with service and maintenance on all heavy equipment.
Installation and replacement of heavy duty truck parts including brakes and drive train components.
Regular service on heavy equipment including Lube and filter, fluid changes, and tire rotations.
