• Collaborate with researchers from biomedical, endodontics, orthodontics, and restorative departments to develop and implement appropriate chemical hygiene policies and procedures.
• Encourage and recognize team members for their initiatives and contributions to betterment of lab environment and safety.
• Represent research division as chemical hygiene officer, review and submit quarterly research laboratory inspection forms as required by San Francisco Department of Public Health.
• Provide summary reports on laboratory conditions to Assistant co-chairs of research.
• Attend and participate in research committee and safety committee meetings.
• Participate in review of chemical hygiene plan with Environmental Health and Safety Department. Assess and meet personal protective equipment requirements in laboratory setting.
• Manage and maintain laboratory space allocations; order and manage supplies.
• Monitor procurement , use, storage and disposal of chemicals and hazardous waste in research labs in compliance with legal and/ or university requirements.
• Monitor maintenance of shared scientific instruments; maintenance service contracts, supervise access and use variety of shared instruments.

• Assisted university emergency committee in safe storage, handling, receiving and storing Pfizer and Moderna COVID 19 vaccine in required temperature conditions.

I work with three Principal investigators. Responsibilities involved

• Running 3-5 research projects independently with little supervision.

• Daily experiments involving Western Blot, PCR, qPCR, RNA and protein Isolation, tissue culture, Calcium tracing, Confocal microscopy, fluorescence microscopy and various biological assays.
• Serving as Dental Staff Advisory Committee (DSAC) and Employee Volunteering Committee (EVOC) member.

• Worked on several projects that involved DNA, RNA, and protein isolation, detection, and purification.
