We tackled projects like organising community service events, each initiative requiring us to balance differing perspectives and strengths. • Collaborator, SWES (Somali Women Empowerment Society), 09/23, Current, I collaborated with the Somali Women Empowerment Society (SWES) to support Somali individuals struggling with addiction, focusing on both direct assistance and stigma reduction. Our joint efforts included providing tailored counselling services, organising community workshops, and fostering open dialogues to challenge harmful stereotypes. By integrating cultural sensitivity into our approach and emphasising the importance of mental health, we worked to create a more supportive environment for those affected, ultimately helping to reduce the stigma around addiction within the Somali community.
