I've been lucky to be at my current job for 37 years. I started at 18. My company produces roofing products at our Surrey and Burnaby plants. I am a full time lead hand, shipper, and am currently in maintenance. I do a bit of everything including driving the company truck, opening and closing our plants, operating forklifts, and purchasing items. I run crews of people when I'm on the machines, and I'm in charge of quality, safety, and production quotas. Our work is quite physical, with rolls weighing anywhere from 20 to 100 lbs, that constantly come off our assembly line. I have a current forklift ticket, level 1 first aid, and I've just completed a fit test course for resporators. I'm well versed around potentially dangerous work areas, and environments. Safety is always first.
