  • The project title was development of test beds for examining low initial system of synchronous machines and converters
  • We modelled a generating Unit using a synchronous generator module on PSCAD
  • A variable load was connected to the system output terminal
  • The real-time behaviour of the system was analyzed with the help of RSCAD as the load was varied
  • The transient response of the system with a change in load was improved by including a converter coupled with a controller to the generating unit
  • The purpose of the controller and converter unit was to control the speed of the generator which in turn controls the system's frequency
  • The frequency of the system was the control variable, it changed as the load changed
  • The main purpose of the project was to stabilize the frequency as the load changes
  • This was achieved by the end of the project
