  • UBCEA is a non-profit student run organization under the AMS. Our vision is to foster an inclusive esports community the Great Vancouver area through competitive tournaments, social events, celebrity meetups, and more.
  • As the VP Internal Relations, my main responsibilities is running the Lenovo Legion Lounge in the Nest, collaborating with clubs, communicating with the AMS through room bookings, as well as helping with the logistical planning for:

Icebreaker: An event where we set up booths in the Nest for our game departments to introduce the club to new students at UBC.

Our annual tournaments: Including Summer series, Winter series, Cascadia Cup, etc that require extensive room bookings.

Gaming EXPO: Our flagship event that encompasses tournaments, guest speakers, artist alleys, and various booths to engage our 500+ club members.

  • Furthermore, I am also responsible for leading the Internal Relations department by hosting bi-weekly meetings and checking up on my 5 executives.

  • As a coordinator, my job was to oversee the planning and execution of events such as:

Boothing: Where I advertised our program and student association to other students in the Nest and first year residences.

Cocktails and Conversations: A social event purposed to connect students within the program from various faculties.

Generating Moment and Paving the Path: Our annual networking events where we invite professors, alumni, and industry professionals to speak to B+MM students.

  • Furthermore, I liaised communications with the AMS and RHL Graduate School through emails and professional meetings.

  • Analyzed seminal works and discussed concepts such as orientialism, post modernism, and revisionism through the context of East Asia’s depiction in western historiography.
  • Wrote a comprehensive research proposal posing the question: “Did Neo-Confucianism have an ideological influence on Japan’s membership in the Axis Powers”.

  • As a Director of the Board, I act as a mentor for future executive teams by providing them with advice, resources, and university connections.
  • I have also taught 10 case cracking lessons, connected with industry professionals, and acquired $4000 in grant funds.
