• Collaborate with the Coordinator to support the steward group in daily operations.
• Serve as acting Coordinator in the Coordinator’s absence.

• Review and provide input on budget submissions. Participate in the interview and hiring process for new stewards and related roles.
• Develop, coordinate, and facilitate training and educational opportunities for stewards to support their ongoing growth and effectiveness.

• Worked with the Coordinator and LROs to service the membership in Fraser Health Authority.
• Provided day-to-day support to a team of LROs and stewards including grievance and arbitration prep.
• Worked with the Coordinator to help LROs develop work capacity and relationship building.

Labour Relations Officer, RIVA and UBC:

• Promoted harmonious working climate to foster effective Union-Management relationships.
• Serviced the acute and long-term care sites at Vancouver Coastal Health.
• Worked with and mentored site stewards.
• Experienced in presenting and resolving grievances.
• Participated in BCNU events and steward education.

Fulltime Steward, Lions Gate Hospital:

• Upheld the values of the BCNU and the Provincial Collective Agreement.
• Continuously learned and applied relevant Collective Agreement interpretation and case laws in the workplace.
• Developed a trusting relationship with the personnel at Lions Gate Hospital.
• 2019-2022 Contract Ratification Voting at Lions Gate Hospital.
• Proficient in conducting meetings and presenting grievances.

Ward Steward, Surgical Unit, Lions Gate Hospital:

• Represent and empower the nurses on the unit, empower the nurses to develop a better understanding of the Provincial Collective Agreement.
• Vacation and workload relief for Dan Desmarais- former Full Time Steward at Lions Gate Hospital.
• Full time position as a registered nurse: Providing holistic care towards surgical/medical patients and families.
• Most prevalently providing care for post-operative orthopedic patients with emphasis on safety, patient teaching, complication prevention, and rehabilitation, until deemed medically stable for discharge.
• Completion of the Vancouver Coastal Health Leadership/ Charge Nurse workshop.
