I'm from Beijing China and I've had a strong interest in food since I was a kid. Because my family cooking are very popular. I moved to Vancouver, Canada when I was in grade 9 and was introduced to food preparation other than Asian food and was fascinated by French cuisine. I love the way people make food so well, and I feel the respect and appreciation for food in this way of cooking. I loved this feeling and started to try to make my own food. However, for family reasons, my family wanted me to get a bachelor's degree before I could study the cuisine I wanted to learn. So I started to watch various cooking videos on Youtube, especially Gordon Ramsey's videos. I followed his videos and learned how to fry a steak, scramble an egg, roast a turkey and make a Wellington steak. I enjoyed the process and even though I failed numerous times, I was forced to eat those failures. But I still had fun with it and I wish I could get a chance to learn cooking in a systematic way. That is why I chose to enroll in Le Cordon Bleu.
