During my time as a researcher and policy analyst I gained a detailed perspective into the social and political realities of First Nations communities across Ontario and other areas of Canada and how Canadian policy impacts their members. This position allowed me to build experience on the entire research process including primary qualitative research, both qualitative and quantitative secondary research, data analysis, report writing, and data dissemination/storage. Other valuable skills built upon include presenting to various audiences, project planning, building professional partnerships and collaborating with organizations across Canada, participating in working groups, and continuous communication with our members.
While working closely alongside Dr. Andrew Judge, teammates. volunteers, and university staff we began and/or built upon two land restoration projects. In addition, my job duties included assisting the Anishinaabe studies department with teacher’s assistant tasks such as grading, organization, and other administrative work. Invaluable cultural lessons were gained as well as strong community connections.
Assisted in the Chief and Council election process for the year 2021.
During this contract, I facilitated a session on provisions for social service administrators on-reserve for a national meeting on income assistance in First Nation communities.

Simultaneously worked as a photographer for an Indigenous production and a local photographer Ryan Rowell where I learned technical and business skills for running a successful photography business
