  • As an Indigenous Cree man, there were teachings in my life very early on that my first responsibility was to myself, which meant I had to find a profession that would provide me with the opportunity to make a living and i turned to what I knew to do, become a mechanic. Through that, I was able to financially support myself and help my family. With that, I also know that I loved serving our relatives, and I am and have been able to do that with my part time casual work at Rain City for nearly 6 years.
  • I was taught when you want to walk this road of wellness I would need to financially support our sacred ceremonies. The creator blessed me with the job as a Red Seal Mechanic to be able to assist in this way.
  • For me it is a full circle of help and healing, and at this time of my life I am moving toward dedicating my life to serving our relatives who are in need of help and healing and I see that as an Indigenous Cultural Liaison worker.

Accomplishments

  • One of the biggest highlights is sharing the Sacred Sweat Lodge with Dali Lama; this was a very humbling experience.

  • Receiving my Red Seal Carpenter Degree was an accomplishment that will always be my greatest accomplishment in terms of the academic world.
