Autumn Broughton

I am proud to be part of the first U16 women's team at Balmy Beach Rugby Club. We are a developing team who learn from one another. We are coached by a former National team player. Throughout my brief rugby experience I have learned many lessons, including pushing myself, committing to a play and trusting my teammates.

• Tasked with instructing U6 kids beginner ski skills from 9:00am-11:00am. The afternoon was dedicated to personal ski development and learning how to instruct young skiers. Responsibilities included ensuring the children were having fun and staying safe.

In January of 2021 I took an online course with the Canadian Red Cross Training Partner (Heart2Heart) and was instructed on the key safety responsibilities when babysitting, I learned how to keep the kids engaged while having fun, learned various games to share with children and the importance of reading books to young children. I completed the course and am now a Certified Babysitter.

I have successfully completed the Bronze Star level. In December of 2021 I began the Bronze Medallion but was unable to complete the physical exam due to breaking my collarbone (rugby). I plan to achieve the Bronze Medallion in August 2024 and will work toward completing the Bronze Cross at the same time.
