Practicum

In order to graduate PCP training, I took part of a practicum facilitated by BC Ambulance where I gained experiences in different settings such as; 

  • Working in smaller towns with less resources, learning to manage my own resources in regards to the best patient care
  • Learning how different hospitals work and what they receive (i.e. Level 1 trauma centres vs. Level 2 or 3)
  • Working with a variety of partners and learning different practice methods taught by preceptors as well as peers
  • Understanding the work in between agencies like Fire Departments, RCMP and local Police, Hospitals, Nursing Homes, etc.
